Governor Matt Blunt Makes Appointments to State Boards and Commissions

ST LOUIS MO (stlouismo.com) – Governor Matt Blunt announced appointments of members who will serve on several boards, commissions and councils.

 

Children’s Vision Commission

Dr. Kim G. Ratcliffe, 58 of Columbia, is the associate executive director for the Missouri School Boards’ Association.  Dr. Ratcliffe holds a bachelor’s degree in education, a master’s degree in education, and a doctorate in education from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Her appointment is for a term ending on June 30, 2012.

Coordinating Board for Higher Education

Dr. Helen R. Washburn (D), 67 of Columbia, is the president emerita for Cottey College.  Dr. Washburn holds a bachelor’s degree in science education and a master’s degree in guidance and counseling from the University of Idaho and a doctorate in educational policy and management from the University of Oregon.  Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on June 27, 2009.

Environmental Improvement and Energy Resources Authority

Jason M. Morgan (D), 36 of Town and Country, is a principal of Prudential Alliance Commercial.  Mr. Morgan holds a bachelor’s degree in business communications from the University of Kansas.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on January 22, 2009.

Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners

Michael K. Whitehead (R), 58 of Lee’s Summit, is an attorney at Whitehead Law Firm, LLC.  Mr. Whitehead holds a bachelor’s degree in political science with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a juris doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 4, 2010.

Life Sciences Research Board

Dr. Roger L. Mitchell, 75 of Columbia, is the dean emeritus and a professor emeritus for the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Department, for the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Dr. Mitchell holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy from Iowa State University, a master’s degree in agronomy, and a doctorate in agronomy with minors in plant physiology and biochemistry from Iowa State University.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 8, 2012.

Thomas E. Pinegar, 62 of Springfield, is president of Pinegar Chevrolet, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University. His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 8, 2012.

Edward S. Stevens, 34 of Kansas City, is president of Pulse Needle Free Systems.  Mr. Stevens holds a bachelor’s degree from Washington University and a juris doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 8, 2012.

Linn State Technical College Board of Regents

          Erick V. Kern (R), 60 of Chesterfield, is the general manager for Saturn of South County.  Mr. Kern holds a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College and a master’s degree in clinical/counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on December 29, 2011.

Missouri Acupuncturist Advisory Committee

          Kathleen A. Coleton, 58 of Lee’s Summit, is a licensed acupuncturist, yoga instructor, energy balancing, T’ai Chi Ch’uan Instructor, CranioSacral Therapist, ear candling at Heartland Yoga & Acupuncture.  Ms. Coleton holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in acupuncture & oriental medicine from the Midwest College for the Study of Oriental Medicine.  Her reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on December 10, 2010.

Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Professional Land Surveyors, and Landscape Architects

Robert N. Hartnett, 51 of Lee’s Summit, is the deputy director of public works for the City of Lee’s Summit.  Mr. Hartnett holds a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Kansas State University.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on September 30, 2011.   

Randall B. Miltenberger, 62 of Kirkwood, is the president of Miltenberger Architects, Inc.  Mr. Miltenberger holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Miami University.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on September 30, 2009.

Missouri Commission on Human Rights

Clyde L. Williams (D), 59 of Marshall, is a program development specialist with the Missouri Family Support Division – Children Support for the State of Missouri.  Mr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Southern University and a master’s degree in business from Lindenwood University.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2012.

Missouri Community Service Commission

Mary E. Potter (R), 65 of Blue Springs, is a retired public educator.  Ms. Potter holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s in education from the University of Central Missouri.  Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on December 15, 2010.

Missouri Fire Education Commission

Gregory M. Brown (R), 43 of Eureka, is the fire chief for the Eureka Fire Protection District of St. Louis and Jefferson Counties.  Mr. Brown holds an associates degree in fire protection technology from St. Louis Community College, and graduated as an executive fire officer from the National Fire Academy.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 26, 2012.

Missouri Gaming Commission

Darryl T. Jones (D), 53 of Olivette, is a managing partner of DID Concessions.  Mr. Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in computer science from St. Louis University and a master’s degree in finance with a minor in business management from Webster University.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 29, 2011.

Noel J. Shull (R), 65 of Kansas City, is the executive vice president of commercial lending for UMB Bank in Kansas City.  Mr. Shull holds two bachelor’s degrees in finance and real estate from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a certificate from the Southwest Graduate School of Banking.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 29, 2011.

Missouri Women’s Council

            Valerie J. White (R), 44 of Weldon Springs, is vice president and director of marketing for White Auto Body. Ms. White holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and master’s in health management from Lindenwood College. Her reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on December 6, 2010.

Missouri Workforce Investment Board

Brenda J. Wrench, 49 of Saint Louis, is the chief operating officer for the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Inc.  Ms. Wrench holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in business administration from Washington University.  Her appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on March 3, 2010.

Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents

Gary L. Panethiere (D), 54 of Kansas City, is the legislative auditor of Jackson County.  Mr. Panethiere holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a CPA certificate in Missouri.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on January 1, 2011.

Second State Capitol Commission

Peter Wayne Goode, 70 of Pasadena Hills, is retired after previously being elected to the Missouri legislature as both a representative and senator.  Mr. Goode holds a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  His reappointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 18, 2012.

Seismic Safety Commission

Timothy W. Bonno, 52 of Ballwin, is the technical director for AT&T Services, Inc. in St. Louis.  Mr. Bonno holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Maryville University.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on July 1, 2008.

State Board of Mediation

          Rep. James G. Avery, Jr., 36 of Saint Louis, represents the 95th House District.  Representative Avery has served in the State House of Representatives since his election in 2002 and also served nine years in the armed forces.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on April 1, 2011.

State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts

          Dr. Bradley D. Freeman (D), 47 of Saint Louis, is an associate professor of surgery in the burn, trauma, surgical critical care section for Washington University School of Medicine.  Dr. Freeman holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Central Florida, and a doctorate in medicine from Duke University School of Medicine.  His appointment is subject to Senate confirmation for a term ending on September 3, 2011.
