ST LOUIS MO (stlouismo.com) -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will hold an open house Saturday, June 21, at Onondaga Cave State Park near Leasburg. The open house is in conjunction with the site's annual solar picnic from noon until 4 p.m. at the park's visitor center. The public is invited.
Park staff will be present to provide information about the park and answer questions. The public is invited to share comments about the park and its operations.
Solar-cooked refreshments will be served at the open house, and, if all goes well, the "sun spots" may make a special appearance.
The open house is part of an ongoing effort by the department to ensure that the public has input on services and facilities in state parks and historic sites.
Onondaga Cave State Park is located four miles east of Leasburg on Highway H in Crawford County; exit 214 off Interstate 44. People requiring special accommodations or services to attend the open house can call the park at 573-245-6576 or the Department of Natural Resources toll free at 800-334-6946 (voice) or 800-379-2419 (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf).
