St Louis MO -- A St Louis Winter Storm Watch is in effect that includes all of the News 4 viewing area for Sunday night to Tuesday morning. The band of snow expected from this storm extends from Texas to northern Indiana and will pass right over St. Louis.
Snow is expected to start falling Sunday night (Super Bowl Sunday) and continue through Tuesday morning. The snowfall will intesify through the day Monday and into Monday night with some seeing more than six inches of snow.
Gusty winds and drifting snow could add to the headaches with this storm. Get the latest St Louis MO weather forecast.
The stlouismo.com has been tracking the weather system and says this snow will be different from what we saw on Friday. News 4 Chief Meteorologist Steve Templeton from Channel 4 says that the warmer temperatures and wet conditions kept our Friday snow totals low, however that will not be the case in this next round. Colder temperatures, windy conditions and the snow and ice already on the ground will mean that whatever falls over the next couple of days should stick.
stlouismo.com will have extended coverage of the winter storm. You can watch live coverage around the clock here and on our twitter.com/stlmissouri.com account. If there are school closings you can find those on KMOV.com and first thing in the morning.
